The Council authorized participation in a Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) housing planning grant application, committing approximately $5,000 as a local match. This collaborative effort with Rio Grande County, Del Norte, and South Fork seeks to update a prior housing assessment, addressing the evolving needs of the region.
Lodging-Tax Marketing Funds Agreement
Additionally, the Council approved an intergovernmental agreement to distribute county lodging tax revenues through local marketing groups over a five-year term. This initiative aims to bolster tourism by effectively promoting Monte Vista’s attractions and events.
